HPV Vaccine

HPV VACCINE

There is now a vaccine available which protects against the most common causes of cervical cancer.

The vaccine is given as three injections over a 6 month period and will reduce your risk of cervical cancer by over 70%.

The vaccine is being given to girls aged 12-13 years old.  There will also be a catch up campaign for older girls up to 18 years, starting with those 17-18 years.

The surgery will contact you by letter when your vaccine is due.

If you have any queries or questions regarding the HPV vaccination, please contact your practice nurse or visit
